EDACY — 100% completion, 10,000+ upskilled.

Led the development, delivery & go-to-market of the MVP for EDACY's learning experience platform — a digital programme delivery system built to upskill the MEA workforce at scale, achieving a 100% completion rate across 10,000+ civil servants.

The situation

EDACY needed a learning experience platform that could upskill the Middle East and Africa workforce at scale — not a content repository, but a digital programme delivery system designed for personalised social learning and group collaboration. The MVP didn't exist yet. It needed to be designed, built, launched, and taken to market — and it needed to deliver completion rates that workforce upskilling programmes almost never achieve.

The diagnosis

Workforce upskilling at scale fails in two places: the platform and the learning experience. Most platforms deliver content; few deliver completion. The problem wasn't building an app — it was designing a learning experience that kept 10,000+ civil servants engaged through to the end. That required product, pedagogy, and delivery to be engineered together, with the learning experience — not the technology — as the primary design constraint.

What I built

The platform — MVP through launch

I led the development, delivery, and go-to-market of the MVP for EDACY's learning experience platform — a mobile app, web app, and analytics dashboard. The platform was built to facilitate personalised social learning and group collaboration, with the primary goal of upskilling the MEA workforce at scale.

  • Mobile app, web app & analytics dashboard — a multi-surface platform designed for accessibility across the MEA region
  • Personalised social learning — learning designed around collaboration, not passive consumption
  • Group collaboration — built-in mechanisms for peer learning that sustained engagement through to completion
  • Analytics dashboard — real-time visibility into learner progress, enabling intervention before drop-off

The team — across four countries

I led a diverse product team across four countries to design, build, and launch the platform. I owned the product roadmap, coordinated cross-functional development teams, and managed the end-to-end product lifecycle from concept through launch.

The learning experience — the 100% design

The 100% completion rate wasn't a feature of the technology — it was a feature of the learning experience I designed. By engineering the programme around personalised social learning and group collaboration, the platform kept learners engaged through to completion. The learning experience was the product; the technology was the delivery mechanism.

Ten thousand civil servants. One hundred percent completion. The learning experience was the product — the technology was how it reached them.

What made it work

EDACY worked because the learning experience was treated as the product, not an afterthought to the technology. Most edtech platforms are built platform-first, with the learning experience retrofitted onto the technology. EDACY was built experience-first — the personalised social learning and group collaboration were the design constraints that shaped the platform, not features added to it.

The 100% completion rate was the structural consequence of that decision. When the learning experience is designed to keep people engaged through to the end — and the technology is engineered to deliver that experience at scale — completion stops being a variable and becomes the outcome.
